The students and instructors of the
Russian Language Academy presented “My Hero of Russia.” Everyone selected their
favorite politician, historical figure or writer. After researching, everyone gathered to
defend their chosen hero..
Peter the Great, Catherine the Great,
Dostoyevsky, Bunin, Lenin, Tchaikovsky, Mendeleev and Gergiev were among the
heroes celebrated.
After the presentations in Russian,
English and even Spanish, everyone discussed the results over Russian zakusky
and vodka.
The event was based on Russian TVs
interactive program “Name of Russia” from 2008.
History, culture, arts and literature are
all reasons students learn Russian at the Russian Language Academy.
